Redistricting data comparison

Here is a comparison of congressional district data from my previous post (2010 data calculated by JWC) and the data on Dave’s Redistricting App.

The data in Dave’s App were the data that populate when you select “Use new pop est.” which I take it to be from 2008 or 2009.

You can see that Georgia has now passed 10 million people (according to Esri 2010 data).

The broad pattern is right, but see some interesting discrepancies in districts 4, 5, 6 & 7. Dave’s App also gives a higher African American total than Esri data: 2,866,034 rather than 2,348,676. Artifact or reality?
