The Census Bureau today announced the release of the first 2010 data to the public (afaik). Each week, the Bureau will release more data by state. The first four states are: Virginia, Mississippi, New Jersey and Louisiana. Next up: Arkansas, Indiana, Maryland and Iowa.
The data for New Orleans show a loss of about 100,000 people who never came back after Katrina. The blogger Digby at Hullabaloo has an interesting analysis on why this represents a deliberate policy of depopulation by the Bush administration.
