Balloon Mapping Pictures

Here are some pictures from our latest balloon mapping project carried out on a sunny day, Friday 18 November, 2011, Lexington KY.

We used a fairly small (4 ft) helium filled balloon.

Some of the perspective shots came out nice.

We also obtained some fairly usable shots for mapping purposes.

A quick and dirty attempt to georectify these:

However, I’d really like to get a lot more height by putting more helium in and using the larger of our two balloons. Weather has turned nasty so far this week but we’ll be making another attempt soon!
