“One sided scepticism is no scepticism at all”

Interesting comment from Michael Mann, the man behind the hockey puck graph on global climate change:

When it comes to climate change, true scepticism is two-sided. One-sided scepticism is no scepticism at all.

Mann goes on to say he doesn’t even grant the legitimacy of the term “climate sceptic” but instead labels them “deniers.” This could apply to a number of things: in the anniversary week of Darwin’s birth (and an excellent lecture here at UK by Eugenie Scott of the NCSE), another obvious candidate is evolution. Cartography has its “Peters denialists” those who wish to demote the relevance of Arno Peters’ contributions to cartography.
