Drunk NGA employee responsible for crashed White House drone

According to the New York Times, an employee of the geography spy agency the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) was responsible for crashing the quadcopter onto the grounds of the White House earlier this week. The man had previously been reported as a “government employee” which observers had speculated referred to the DoD. The NGA is a DoD combat-support agency. The NYT describes the man as “inebriated.”

Pretty safe bet that lawmakers will be paying attention to this, as the FAA continues to delay issuing its new UAV rules…
